Physical Education and Sports Institute
Hi!
On the 17th of January we'll have an easy hike to Balatonalmádi. We'll start from Veszprém, and go trough Szentkirályszabadja, to the docks in Balatonalmádi, and see how frozen Lake Balaton is.
Meeting will be in front of the PE and Sports Institute entrance at 7:45 on the 17th of January. We'll leave az 8:00.
I don't know how much snow will left, but only the short distance between Szentkirályszabadja and Balatonalmádi will be offroad.
Since it is exams time, there will be no PE signatures for this hike, this is just for those, who would like to go out in nature a little.

With Hunagrian-style campfire barbecue!
Would you like to see a truly impressive sight as part of an organized tour and crown the semester with a little campfire barbecue, but don't have anyone to go with? If so, this program is for you! The hike starts in front of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, from where we will head through Gulya Hill and Laczkó Spring into the darkness of the forest. Leaving the realm of darkness behind, we arrive at the peaceful oasis of Csatár Hill, from where we continue towards the Holy Cross Chapel, then climb to the top of Csatár Hill, where we spend 1-1.5 hours enjoying a classic Hungarian barbecue. Afterwards, we return along the same route. At the beginning of the tour, we can vote on whether to take the more interesting forest route from Ördög-rágta-kő.
Important information:
The Hungarian-style barbecue will be "old-fashioned," meaning that everyone brings what they want to grill, and we carve the skewers from sticks in the traditional way.
Route length: ~ 15 km
Date: November 19, 2025, 6:00-6:30 p.m. meeting and departure in front of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, expected return to the Institute of Physical Education and Sports: between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.
