The Nereus Curse: An Evening Tour 14.10

The students at the Veszprém dorm haven’t even stopped to think about what it might be like for a Nereus dorm resident to head home after a fun night out. Our goal is to raise public awareness of the real dangers of this “curse,” which few people know about.

We’ll begin our exploration in the square in front of Nereus College, from where we’ll head toward the waterfront, where a breathtaking panorama unfolds before us. Next, we’ll go to the highest point in Balatonalmádi, the Óvári Messzelátó, from where we’ll take in the view of one of the most prominent towns in the Balaton region. Once we’ve had our fill of admiring the beauty of the landscape, the real adventure begins. We’ll set off through the dark forest, passing through Szentkirályszabadja on our way to the city of Veszprém.

Return: ~ 10:00–11:00 p.m.
Distance: 15 km
Students who complete the entire hike can earn 3 physical education credits.
Difficulty: moderate, recommended for beginners as well
